Rock Rat is a cedar-and-aluminum shoe tree shaped like a climbing shoe — it holds the aggressive fit you paid for and pulls moisture and smell out between sessions.

Rock Rat is sized by the length of your foot in inches — not by shoe size, because climbing shoe sizing is inconsistent across brands and every climber downsizes differently. Small covers 8.6"–9.6", Medium 9.6"–10.2", and Large 10.2"–11.4". Measure standing, heel against a wall, with your toes curled the way they sit inside your climbing shoe: the tree has to fill the shoe, and your shoe is holding a scrunched foot. The size guide walks through it step by step.
Yes. Every size has three settings — shortest, middle, and longest — so each size covers a range rather than a single length. Set it to the length you measured and leave it there; if your shoes stretch out over a season, take it up a setting to keep the tension on.
Rock Rat is built from natural cedar wood and aluminum. The cedar wicks moisture and cuts odor between sessions; the aluminum holds the downturned shape of your climbing shoes.
Shipping is free across the US, and it is already included in the price you see.

Why we made it
Most climbing shoes don’t wear out — they flatten out. The downturn sags, the heel bags, and a $180 pair gets replaced with life still left in the rubber. Rock Rat holds the shape between sessions, and the cedar does what cedar does: soaks up sweat and takes the gym funk with it.
